Raised with Kansas City in her backyard with Nashville as her adopted home for over two decades, New York City-based Epifani artist Emily Davies' style has been fueled by KC's jazzy BBQ, Nashville's hot pickin' chicken, and the deep roots of NYC's Harlem Renaissance jazz scene.
In Nashville, Emily performed with a diverse array of musicians from alt-rock Audra and the Antidote to Americana sensation Runaway Home, with jazz ensembles at the Nashville Jazz Workshop's Jazz Cave, and with a revolving door of singer-songwriters.
Emily graduated with a B.M. in Bass Guitar/Commercial Music from Belmont University in Nashville and holds an M.M. in Jazz Performance—Bass from New York University's Steinhart School of Music.
Emily was an adjunct bass instructor for undergraduates at New York University in the spring of 2022. She is a 2021 founding Board member of the Atlanta-based nonprofit League of Women Bassists with fellow domestic and international bassists and colleagues Jackie Pickett, founder, and Susan Hagen, Sibongile Buda, Laura Payne, Lindsay Lam, and Estrella Miressa Santos.
